Interesting, no Spacing Guild or Guild Navigators in the 2 Remakes. From what I've read, were not mentioned in the book(s) of Frank Herbert up to this point either. Glaring in the remake though, is the absence of Paul's sister, who was singularly responsible for the demise of Baron Harkonen?
También se refiere al Inconsciente Planetario. El líquido es B.B. (Inconsciente PLANETARIO). Las Burbujas son nuestros pensamientos y emociones...que suben a B.B. El vaso es el Arquitecto. Abrazos Federico.
This shows the low quality and the bad moviemaking of Lynch's Dune 1984. Exposition, exposition, exposition. Pathetic narration. Cinema is "show, don't tell". Lynch did the opposite and his movie sucked 100% from the beginning to the end. Really bad. Really anti-cinematic and dumb. No visuals, no visual storytelling, nothing. The movie is a cringe audiobook with pathetic footage, dumb special effects, and unnecessary additions to Herbert's synopsis. Like one big cheap YT fan trailer. Dune 1984 is a prime example of an objectively terrible movie. Villeneuve showed how it's done. Show, don't tell.
Lynch never got final edit, and the ending was not what he planned, but its still a masterful work. My appreciation only grows as the years go by, and now that Dune part 2 has been released Lynch is a magician.
The guild getting tweaked out on that spice gas. Never smoke synthetic. Otherwise you end up in bed with one of the Harkrackheads wondering who stole your bong jabar. Unable to pass it around and puff puff with some hoes at the function. That is the ultimate lesson to take away from Dune.
So happy to find this! I loved this opening. When I first saw Dune in theaters, I was stationed in Germany. This was the opening. I could never understand why it was replaced.
Jeffrey Jones is very nice to Criswell, portraying him with dignity and sanity. (If you don't know what I mean, just watch the opening of Plan 9 from Outer Space.)
This intro sequence blew me away when I first saw it. I was like a kid on Christmas morning. The visuals, the music, the stark and rich black and white-- all marvelous. Being a longtime fan of drive-in monster movies and their ilk, of MST3K, and cinema in general ... well, this was right up my alley.
Perfect intro that explains a lot . It should be at the beginning always

The only time C.H.O.A.M. is explained by either movie franchise 🤷🏻♂️
Whoever made this deserves an oscar+
¡La burbuja loca ataca! 😆 Abrazo
Fuerte abrazo. Es un plano de la película TAXI DRIVER de Scorsese. 👍

Disney used to play the 4 hour version and mexico had a long version too.

I'm so scared of copyright infringement or something from a police I'm just not a police and Pooplegest Shit

Justo mi cumpleaños! Abrazo
Otro abrazo para tí , Federico 😲👍
“So why did you attack Ukraine?”
:/ They took out best design Irulan’s intro.:/
I still don't trust those Spacing Guild; CHOAM; or Bene Gesserit bastards...Dune:2000 players unite. Long live the Westswood fighters!
I like this intro more than the Virginia Madsen one. Narrator has a great voice and the use the score and images are perfect
O. K. I get it now?
Sounds like the narrator is John Polito, aka earl from modern family?
So robots are forbidden?
any that use anything more than basic mechanical operation to operate would be forbidden think automata like wind up birds or mechanical orchestras
One way for , IA rise ! 🐸🙃😎
Definition of hacking, 1:50 "then they became victims and slaves of other men with machines"
As it is Now 🤘Hugs Daniel.
When I saw this for the first time I thought “Get to the point!”
Dune 1984 was okay if you didn't or wouldn't read the novel and if you thought Star Wars was science fiction
Flowing is what the Spice must
My childhood.
Nice work up for the non-scifi folks in the 80's. Probably did not do much for those who ignored the books. But, 8/10 for effort.
Is this George Carlin?
Don't know. Hugs
I missed an intro like this in the new movie.
The New Movie is Perfect for me. Hugs Daniel
I don't care if the movie doesn't follow the books. It's a great movie and you can't watch a book.
Que grande el triunvirato Vitti, Mastroianni, Giannini
Grande!!! Sí Juan. Recuerdo que la grabé en VHS a principios de los 80. No me canso de verla. Monica Vitti nunca ha estado más guapa. Saludos, Daniel.
I’ve just folded space from Ix. The spice must flow!
Wait for Dune Messiah. Hugs Daniel
Buen vídeo, Dani 👍🏼
So basically the far future is a mess and doesn’t make sense. Good to know.
Just like now
entropy in millions of years will be neganthropy. Hugs, Daniel
Well this sounds sounds more dark than Virginia Madsen talking

I would have enjoyed Virginia Madsden relaying this information for seven minutes. Mostly because I could stare at her face for seven minutes.
This kicks ass. Period.
Fucking Classic!

OK I know the Guild are high on relativistic shit, but come on -- only real nutters graffiti their walls with Lorentz transformations.
I'm wondering if in the future I'll be pondering my past and asking myself where did life go so fast?
I can't find this version to buy
Pretty much. I've owned the DVD near 20 years.
And ironically A.I. is doing now what the machines and robots did
I'm wondering if in the future I'll be pondering my past and asking myself where did life go so fast?
I love this movie
I don't know whether it came before or after the making of this prologue, but there was a pop-up book that I'm sure used some of the art shown here...
I think it’d be a kick to see this redone with drawings of the new Dune movie lol.
Why are living in the time of thinking machines.
Love those artworks.

The 1984 dune may have some flaws but at least it honored Frank Herbert’s original Butlerian jihad and not what Brian Herbert made
He would do it for real in Wag the Dog. Robert Vaughn did his take off on Robert Evans in the hilarious S.O.B in 1981.
